Example of Welcome Speech

Ladies and gentlemen! I feel honored on finding the opportunity to introduce to you Prof. K. N. Tripathi, the keynote Speaker for the Inaugural Session of this three-day conference. I know that Prof. Tripathi requires neither any introduction, nor my brief introduction can highlight his multifaceted genius; but I can make a modest attempt.

Prof. Tripathi is an intellectual and scholar of international repute. He has served several prestigious academic institutions in India as well as abroad. He has been the Vice Chancellor of three universities. He has published fifteen books, more than eighty research papers, and dozens of articles in newspapers and magazines. He has guided twenty-five scholars in their doctoral research, and has delivered keynote addresses in hundreds of academic gatherings.

Prof. Tripathi, himself, has been the convener of several national and international seminars, workshops and conferences. Today, Prof. Tripathi is going to speak on "Optical Communication and Its Applications", the theme that the eminent scholar has always explored with vision, authenticity and intensity. Friends, I don't want to stand between you and Prof. Tripathi's sublime ideas. Hence I request Prof. Tripathi to take over the mike and enlighten the audience with his ideas.
